*Prezi Presentations*
Prezi is an online presentation maker that our class has been working with to create a multitude of fun and informative slides. Prezi is user friendly and easily accessible to anyone in need of a fresh and colorful presentation platform that outshines PowerPoint. It can be used by multiple collaborators simultaneously, allowing for easier group work, and a more fluid sharing of ideas. Prezi is applicable to NETS Standards 1 and 2, as students demonstrate creative thinking, and produce original works, all while collaborating through the use of digital media.
- This particular assignment was used as an introductory activity, allowing everyone in the class to become familiar with one other.
- This Grammar Prezi was created to help students differentiate between adjectives and adverbs. It also asks students to consider the impact that such conventions have on both their writing, and the works that they read in class.
- Dynamic characters are characters who change throughout the course of a story. This Prezi introduces the concept of the dynamic character to students, all while challenging them to consider to what extent they are dynamic themselves.
- The following Prezi was created for an assignment that required each member of the class to create a presentation that would prep students for a field trip relevant to the content area of our choice. I chose the birthplace of fellow Long Islander, Walt Whitman, as my destination. High school students would take a tour around the grounds, as well as inside the original home, taking in the sights and sounds of nature that were so integral to Whitman's work. Afterwards, a poetry workshop would be held, encouraging students to use what they have learned to create something all their own.
- The Enlightenment Era Prezi was a group assignment, for which I worked alongside two Social Studies majors. While they provided background and repercussions of The Enlightenment, I researched the great literary works of the time, as European culture made the transition from Biblical writings, to those focusing of the self, freedom of expression and thought.
- This Prezi was created as part of a presentation in my Law and Professionalism class. I used this Prezi as a visual aid to supplement my explanation of the Supreme Court case, New Jersey v. T. L. O., and its implications on education today.
- The Russian Culture Prezi was put together as part of a presentation on culture and diversity. It is imperative that educators familiarize themselves with the diverse learners within the classroom, and become culturally aware so that they can better meet individualized needs.
